Tadoba Andhari National Park is sprawl over an area of 750 square kilometers jungle. Geographically, the North end of Tadoba is Kolara and South end of Tadoba is Moharli which is very popular for Safari. Junona Safari Gate lies towards south end or you can say Moharli side. It is buffer area of Tadoba jungle which is best known for sheltering high density of flora and fauna. It is only located at a distance of only 1 km from Core area Moharli.
There are 12 safari gates in Taodoba National Park and Junona Gate is one of them. The chances of spotting wildlife especially tigers is very high in this zone. If you really want to enjoy the core side wildlife of Tadoba, then once you should visit Junona Gate. Jeep Safari in Junona gate is conducted in three shifts – morning, evening as well as in night shifts. Six jeep safaris in morning and evening shifts and six safari in night shift is allowed to enter inside the Junona gate of Tadoba National Park.
1. Suppose you are coming or staying towards south side of Tadoba then book safari towards the gates of Moharli zone. You can book jeep safari entry from Agarzari Zone Buffer, Devada, Adegaon and Junona Buffer gate. Please do not book safari from Kolara, Navegaon, Madnapur or Alizanza if you are staying south side of Tadoba. It is not possible to cover from Moharli side. Zari safari gate is possible to cover from Moharli or Chandrapur but you need to hire cab or taxi to access Zari gate in Kolsa. It takes around 02 hours to reach. Khutwanda is only 20 minutes away from Moarli gate.
2. Hotels near Junona gate or Moharli are good and you can get multiple options from luxury to budget.
3. Please keep in mind that Tadoba is not a Zoo or cage bar hence very limited jeep safari is allowed to enter inside the park. So always book safari ticket well in advance as it is served on first come and first serve basis. Rest of the booking can be done easily. Also animals in the park are not ties or caged anywhere. Spotting any wildlife including tiger is purely matter of luck. No one can guarantee animal sightings. However, Tadoba is known for wildlife sightings.
