The forest department of Tadoba National Park offers boating ride facility on the backwaters of Irai Lake. This is the most enjoyable activity for nature lovers those who come to Tadoba to see its wildlife. This is the best spot for nature photographers and avifauna lovers. Some of beautiful birds that can be caught here include Crested Poachard, Grey Heron, Stork Billed Kingfisher and cotton Goose etc. Irai Lake is an abode of many migratory birds during winter season.
This beautiful water body is about 51 square kilometre and has inlets, islands an bays within the jungle providing a mesmerizing vista, enhanced by the presence of the birds and wildlife coming to the edge of the water - a wonderful way of bird-watching and wildlife viewing.
The boating ride is of 30 minutes in one shift. However, tourists have option of reserving the boat for 1-3 hours. If you are looking for a longer duration then you have an option of going in the buffer area of the Tadoba national for wildlife sightings.
